The Whitford Charitable Classic, in partnership with the Chester County Community Foundation, has given $11,000 to each of the 11 Chester County nonprofit charities that were selected by the Whitford Classic Committee.

Hosted at Whitford Country Club in Exton, this year’s Whitford Classic took place the weekend of Sept. 22-24. The Classic brought together Whitford Country Club members and an extensive network of generous long-standing and new supporters from the community to play in golf, tennis and pickleball tournaments, with the highlight being the Gala and Auction.

Ladies Tennis, themed “It all Begins with LOVE” was held in near-perfect weather starting off the festivities on Friday, while this year’s golf and pickleball tournaments were canceled due to weather on Saturday and Sunday. In true Classic fashion, all the players graciously donated their admission fees to the Whitford Charitable Classic, allowing this year’s net revenue to be one of the highest ever.

Whitford Country Club and the Whitford Charitable Committee and Fund Advisors are enthused to begin plans for the 2024 Classic and to continue to fund some very valuable Chester County charities. Kelly Hagelauer, Chair of The Classic, spoke of the importance of the Whitford Charitable Fund.

She highlighted how Whitford members take pride in this event and in being the only country club in the Philadelphia region donating their facilities, time, talents, and treasures to give back to the communities where they live, work, and play. The Classic allows Whitford members to connect to nonprofits whose missions align with the causes that they not only love, but that serve the needs of the community as well.

Since its inception in 2011, the Whitford Classic has raised almost $1.4 million and awarded grants to over 80 qualifying organizations. This year’s grantees included: A Child’s Light; A Haven; Chester County Futures; Community Warehouse Project; Connect Thru Cancer; Fertility Dreams; Health Care Access; Mosaic Place; Partners in Outreach; Rhy’s Above and Sow Good Now.
