The Timothy's at Parkway Shopping Center could be demolished to become a new Wawa.

Township supervisors considered the proposal to construct a new Wawa at the Parkway Shopping Center at last week’s meeting after the West Goshen Planning Commission voted against the plan during its Nov. 14 meeting, writes Bill Rettew for The Daily Local News.

Planners, who voted 6-2 against the proposal, were concerned about the flow of traffic from the highway ramp off Route 202 South, with traffic then moving north onto High Street.

Since the planning commission is an advisory board, supervisors take its recommendations into consideration but the Board of Supervisors is not bound by them.

According to Wawa officials, the new market would replace the existing legacy Wawa located north of Parkway Center on High Street. The company plans on building a 5,330-square-foot Wawa with 16 gas pumps at Parkway Center.

The hearing was not completed and will continue on Dec. 21.

In addition to the township and Wawa representatives, around a dozen taxpayers who live or run a business within less than a half mile of the Parkway Center also became parties to the hearing.
