Coatesville Native Makes List of Top NBA Players from Pennsylvania

Coatesville native Richard Hamilton is one of the top ten NBA players from Pennsylvania, writes Matt Benedetto for abc27.

Hamilton, who played for the University of Connecticut, ranked ninth on the list.

The shooting guard/small forward was selected by Washington Wizards as seventh overall in the first round of the 1999 draft.

During his 14-year-long NBA career, he played for the Washington Wizards, Detroit Pistons, and Chicago Bulls. In 921 games, he averaged 32.1 minutes played and 17.1 points per game, as well as a .449 field goal percentage.

He totaled 15,708 points, 319 blocks, 1,407 steals, and 6,750 assists. He won the 2004 NBA Championship and was named an all-star three times.
