West Chester Dad’s App Highlights All Your Neighborhood Halloween Hotspots
Michael Kane, a West Chester dad, created Frightmaps, an app that has all the Halloween hotspots in the neighborhood in one convenient place for you to peruse, writes Alicia Vitarelli for 6ABC.
The app covers everything from attractions and events to homegrown Halloween displays and the best fall must-sees.
“You just go on the app and give your location, and we’re going to give you a list of the best haunts in your area,” said Kane. “You can map out your own night, save haunts, and make a plan. We have everything from holiday car washes to walking haunted houses that people host at their house.”
On Frightmaps, businesses, event coordinators, homeowners, or anyone else who is interested can upload photos and directions to a spooky happening. All entries are personally vetted by Kane.
There is even an option for users to map out the best candy houses for trick or treating.
This year, he added a charity component to raise money for Skeletons for Hope, with proceeds benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
“A lot of these houses that support the charity are very elaborate haunts,” said Kane.
