Nine Chester County Townships Among Wealthiest in Pennsylvania

Chester County has some of the wealthiest townships in Pennsylvania.

Chester County is home to nine out of twenty wealthiest townships in Pennsylvania, according to the data from the U.S. Census‘ five-year American Community Survey, writes Chris Ullery for the Philly Burbs. 

The ranking is based on median income. 

The highest-ranked spot on the list is West Pikeland Township at No. 2. The town has a median household income of $244,583, with 55 percent of residents making more than $200,000. 

Two more townships made the top ten: Birmingham Township at No. 6 and Easttown Township at No. 9. 

Birmingham Township has a median household income of  $197,308, and 49 percent of residents are making more than $200,000, while Easttown Township has a median household income of $187,868, and 45 percent of residents are making more than $200,000. 

West Vincent Township is next at No. 12, followed by Upper Uwchlan Township at No. 13. 

The list is rounded out by Charlestown Township at No. 14, Thornbury Township at No. 15, Schuylkill Township at No. 18, and East Brandywine Township at No. 19.
