After Escaped Convict Was Found in Stolen Eagles Hoodie, Gov. Shapiro Offered to Get Owner a New Kelly Green One
Danelo Cavalcante, a convict who broke out of the Chester County Prison two weeks ago, was captured on Wednesday wearing a stolen Philadelphia Eagles hoodie, according to a staff report from 6ABC.
The first images of the convicted killer that surfaced after his arrest showed him in a Birds’ sweatshirt.
During the press conference following the arrest, Governor Josh Shapiro said he wanted to help the person who had their hoodie stolen.
“Folks, whoever had their Eagles hoodie stolen,” said Shapiro. “If you could let us know, I’ll do my best to get you one of those new Kelly green ones.”
Cavalcante was located overnight when a plane using a thermal imaging camera picked up his heat signature. This allowed tactical teams on the ground to first secure the area, then surround him, and move in with search dogs.
In August, Cavalcante was handed a life sentence in Pennsylvania for killing his ex-girlfriend, Deborah Brandao in 2021.
He escaped from the Chester County Prison by crab-walking up between two walls topped with razor wire. He then jumped from the roof and ran away.
