State Rep. Christina Sappey recently visited PathStone Corporation, a community development and human service nonprofit in Kennett Square, to gain firsthand knowledge of the vital services it provides. During her visit, she expressed her commitment to addressing the challenges faced by PathStone clients, particularly in the areas of affordable housing and public transportation.

“I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to PathStone, and while there, I learned so much about the important work they do,” said Rep. Sappey. “I’m very grateful that we have this dedicated provider in the community, offering assistance to individuals with job training, education, and childcare, which are essential to growing and maintaining our workforce.”

Despite the positive impact of PathStone, Rep. Sappey noted that affordable housing and reliable public transportation continue to be hurdles for the organization’s clients.

“Unfortunately, from our discussion, affordable housing and access to reliable public transportation continue to be significant challenges for PathStone clients, and also make it harder to get to PathStone for support,” she said. “Our employers need these workers, so I’m committed to tackling these issues in order to make working and living in Chester County accessible for Pathstone clients and all working families.”

“We thank Rep. Sappey for taking the time to visit our office to listen to our program successes and the challenges of those we serve,” said Tracy Jones, PathStone’s Executive Director of Program Development Administration. “It was a great opportunity to start a conversation about how, as a nonprofit organization, we can help overcome those challenges.”
