Chester County is home to many excellent wineries that have something to offer for every wine aficionado, especially during the fall season when the grapes are harvested for winemaking, writes Holly Herman for the Phoenixville Patch.

Chaddsford Winery, located just a mile from the Brandywine River Museum, is among the oldest and largest wineries in the state. It produces dry, sweet, and sparkling wines. On some weekends, you can even visit the winery with your four-legged best friend.

Penns Woods Winery in Chadds Ford was founded by Gino Razzi more than two decades ago. In 2012, the Italian immigrant added another location in Coatesville. Every weekend in October, the vineyard features live music.

Meanwhile, Stargazers Winery in Coatesville recently harvested grapes for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Finally, Stone Barn Cellars Winery in Spring City boasts a lovely tasting room in a 150-year-old stone barn. A bonus is the deck overlooking the French Creek. In addition to great wines, the location serves artisan pizza and charcuterie boards.
