See Where Chester County Ranks as Best Place for Small Business Owners in Pennsylvania

Chester County is the best place for small business owners in Pennsylvania, according to a recently released report by SmartAsset. 

To determine the best counties for small business owners, the study measured five main factors, including the proportion of people with small business income, the reported business income, and the amount of tax residents have to pay on their income. 

Chester County ranked first with the Small Business Returns Index of 46.32 and small business returns of 24.089 percent. This is a huge improvement compared to last year when Chester County was in seventh place. 

Nationwide, the county ranked at No. 1,189. 

With small business income of 9.82 percent Chester County comes above the state average of 7.83 percent. In fact this places the county in third place statewide which is also higher than last year’s income of 8.10 percent. 

Meanwhile, income taxes in Chester County are $9,352, which is among the lowest in the Keystone State and below the state average of $10,351.
