Philter, a popular Kennett Square coffee shop, has re-emerged from the pandemic with a brand new business model and a partnership with A Little More, Meredith Mitchell’s new catering and culinary business, writes Caroline Roosevelt for the Chester County Press

While it is still coffee that keeps the customers coming back, Philter owner Chris Thompson in partnership with Mitchell has started to introduce a new concept with a new menu that represents community, creativity, and camaraderie.

It all began when Thompson realized that he was no longer happy with his business model as the pandemic started to die down.

“It didn’t feel right, and it wasn’t as rewarding as it used to be,” he said. “Then Meredith came one day, and we had a heart-to-heart talk about Philter.”

They settled on Mitchell leasing the kitchen and running her operation through here.

“She subleases and then, obviously, we share the space with the customers,” said Thompson. “I hadn’t seen this model before, but I knew it existed, and because of it, we can both do the things we love to do.”

Philter and A Little More now plan on making this a long-term collaboration.
