Candida Gazoli, a Kennett Square blogger and author, recently published the third volume of Braving Veracity, an anthology celebrating the work of local women writers, writes Caroline Roosevelt for the Chester County Press

Gazoli developed “Didaink,” her moniker as a blogger, in the early 2000s, after she was laid off from her job at Motorola. At first, she wanted to use the platform she created to talk about the experience of becoming a mother in her forties.

The blog has branched out since then, and Gazoli has expanded to a not-for-profit organization that publishes books. She also teaches as part of her nonprofit.

When she moved to Kennett Square, she created the first two volumes of Braving Veracity, the collection of memoirs written by women and nonbinary writers in the Brandywine Valley. Recently, the third volume became available.

All royalties from the sales of the three anthologies go directly to the featured writers.

“It’s about supporting these writers not only emotionally but financially — to pay them a market rate fee for their personal essays and increasing their fee as we continue working together on future volumes,” said Gazoli.
