Jordan Layne of Glen Mills talks with a reporter from Fox 29 about her pet service business.

At only 19 years of age, Jordan Layne, a self-motivated Glen Mills teenager with an entrepreneurial spirit, has created a successful pet care business that boasts 200 clients and a variety of animals, reports Fox 29.

Jordan’s Bed & Biscuit began as a way for Jordan to help out some women from her church who needed a dog sitter. Word of mouth and a Facebook site have made more people aware of her services and now her business has exploded beyond just dogs.

“I take care of all animals, from the donkeys to the fish, to pigs to goats to puppies. I just take care of them when you guys can’t be there,” she said

The niche business can bring peace of mind to an animal owner who needs time away on vacation, or who has to travel for work.

“We will stop by, walk them, feed them, play with them, all of the above,” Jordan said.

Jordan also looks after animals at her home.  One of her first customers was Gus. He’s a pig.

“I let him out with his dog brother Teddy and they go to the bathroom and they come back inside and get their treat,” Jordan said.

Jordan now has three part-time employees to handle the client load.
