Uptown’s popular $5 Movie Mondays are running throughout the month of July. $5 gets you the big screen, any seat in the house, a cash bar, free popcorn, and a cool break for families.

As a small movie house, Uptown is still required to still pay licensing fees but they are determined to offer affordable family entertainment and they’ve seen audiences continuing to look for events that are family-friendly and offer a bit “extra.”

Uptown pops fresh popcorn every Monday and will often add a costume contest, a creative-themed cocktail, a partnership with a local business, and more.

“We also will often tie the film selection to the month, a holiday or an event,” said Program Director Debra Danese, “National Treasure, Book of Secrets, for example, is being shown on July 3, when everyone is having conversations about our nation’s history. We understand that the film is fiction, but it draws on a myriad of historic events to create an adventure tale.”

The July lineup offers five all-time film faves.
