As Blobfest approaches for the Colonial Theatre and Phoenixville beginning July 14, the theatre was featured on Dawn of the Horrorcast podcast.

Bob Trate, Colonial Theatre Marketing Director, Chuck Francisco, volunteer, and ‘Dash Daring sit down with Alex Matullo of Dawn of the Horrorcast (and other genres) Podcast. They discussed Blobfest, movies in general, and most importantly, all the work that’s put into keeping the theatre great for the horror community and cinephiles together on the two-hour long episode.

“I’m honored to have sat down with Chuck and Bob from the historic Colonial Theater in Phoenixville, PA, most famous from the classic sci-fi/horror movie The Blob,” reads part of the episode description.

The Blob was directed by Irvin S. Yeaworth Jr., written by Theodore Simonson and Kay Linaker. It stars Steve McQueen, Aneta Corsaut, Earl Rowe, Olin Howland, and Lee Payton.

Tickets are on sale now for Blobfest, which starts on July 14 with the iconic Run Out Scene re-enactment. On July 15, the unique Blobfest Street Fair takes place with multiple bands and over 70 vendors — all in the heart of Phoenixville’s walkable downtown, craft breweries, eateries, and retailers. Participate in a Costume contest for great prizes and enjoy Monster-themed, vintage films. The fun continues on July 16 for another successful year of honoring The Blob.
