Home of the Sparrow in Chester County is hosting a Walk for Women event in June to raise $10,000 to support women who are working to achieve housing stability.

The one-mile walk and family-friendly event takes place rain or shine Saturday, June 24, at the Great Valley Corporate Park at the Rajant Corporation, 200 Chesterfield Parkway in Malvern.

This new event will feature food trucks, face painting, lawn games, volleyball, balloon animals, and a short walk. And since Home of the Sparrow is not hosting its gala this year, the Walk for Women provides an opportunity for community members to support its mission while welcoming the official start of summer.

Registration for the Walk begins on May 1st.  You can register here, or visit www.homeofthesparrow.org.

Walkers will have many opportunities to learn more about the mission of Home of the Sparrow and to meet staff and board members.

Cost is $30 per person, with children under 14 admitted free.

All registrants over age 14 will receive a T-shirt handed out on the day of the walk.

Activities begin at 9:30 AM. Check-in and T-shirt pick-up takes place 9:30 to 10 AM, with a community welcome from 10:15 to 10:30 AM.

The one-mile Walk begins at 10:30 AM and will continue until everyone has finished.

Food and family fun activities open at 11 AM and run until 1 PM.

The Home of the Sparrow mission is to partner with women and children in Chester County facing homelessness to secure housing, achieve long-term stability in their lives, and chart new paths for their future.

Founded in 1994, HOS supports over 800 women and children each year via direct financial support and one-on-one trauma-informed case management services. In addition, the agency manages a Giving Garage to provide free paper goods and household products to its participants, a backpack program every summer, and a holiday gift program.
