The Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry will honor Home of the Sparrow as the “Nonprofit of the Year” at its annual Small Business Awards Breakfast Thursday, Feb. 23, at the Penn Oaks Golf Club in West Chester.

Home of the Sparrow partners with women facing homelessness to secure housing, achieve long-term stability, and chart new paths for their futures.

“We are delighted to have been chosen as the nonprofit of the year!  We have a long-standing relationship with the Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry and we value our partnership. We are thrilled to have been selected to receive this award,” said Home of the Sparrow CEO Michelle E. Venema.

Home of the Sparrow plays an integral role in the fight to prevent and end homelessness in Chester County, Venema noted, “and we are so pleased that our innovative programming, stellar case management practices, wonderful team, and dedication to our mission, allows us to help so many women and children in Chester County avoid the trauma of homelessness.”

In addition to the Home of the Sparrow, SCORE Chester and Delaware Counties will be recognized at the breakfast as “Community Partner of the Year” and AEONRG as “Small Business of the Year.”

“The Chamber is excited to celebrate AEONRG, Home of the Sparrow, and SCORE of Delaware and Chester Counties for their exemplary work in our community,” said Laura Manion, president of Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry.

The Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry is partnering with Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania for this event.

Tickets and sponsorships are on sale now. Anyone may attend. Tickets are $50 for members, $65 for non-members, and $40 for small business members. Sponsorship opportunities are available.

Mark Madrid, Associate Administrator of the U.S Small Business Association, will be the keynote speaker at the breakfast.
