Esteemed aesthetician and entrepreneur Ellen Lange is reminiscing on her partnership with West Chester-based QVC, writes Dana Wood for Beauty Matter.

Lange launched her three-step Retexturizing peel in 1996.

“The buyer said, ‘If you can create a peel, you’re on,’” she said. “I launched on QVC because it was an opportunity. I didn’t have a brand. I didn’t come from the beauty business. I was an aesthetician.”

While the peel kit was a sensation on the lifestyle shopping network, the partnership had to come to a halt. Make-up retailer Sephora wanted to fill her product in the store, but it was often sold out on QVC.

She eventually created 18 products to put on the shelves to accommodate. But then Sephora gave an ultimatum between them and the West Chester company, so Lange made her choice to drop QVC.

“It was growing so quickly. We were branded in 70 stores,” she said. “And honestly, I can’t really say I made the wrong decision.”

Lange currently sells her products on her own website, Amazon and other through other partnerships. She’s also very active promoting her brand on TikTok.
