A Coatesville native may be heading to the NBA. A.J. Hoggard plays for the Michigan State Spartans. Throughout his collegiate career, he’s earned third-team All-Big Ten Honors, writes Matt Charboneau for The Detroit News.

Now, Hoggard’s name is on the final list for the NBA draft, and his dreams may transform to reality. He credits his coach, Tom Izzo, for pushing him to success.

“Playing for a guy like Coach Izzo, who pushes you to be the best on the court and off of it, has made me a better player and a better person,” Hoggard said in a statement on his Instagram.

Hoggard says that playing in the NBA has always been his dream. He announced that he will submit his name to the 2023 NBA Draft but will also maintain his college eligibility. According to The Detroit News, players have until May 31 to withdraw from the draft.
