Former Water World site.

The fate of the former Water World site in Phoenixville has finally been decided. The property hit the market for $2.85 million and is expected to be sold to a developer in mid-May, writes Holly Herman for Phoenixville The Patch.

The East Pikeland property will be used for senior housing developments. Twenty-two of its 55-acre site will be used for an assisted living facility and nursing home. The remaining 32.9 acres have a different owner. That portion will be renovated into single-family homes.

The site of the senior living complex will be across the new Hares Hill Elementary School, which is set to open in 2025.

Water World closed in 2012 and was purchased by a Wayne couple in 2018. The couple has worked together to fix up the property over the past five years and clear structures.
