Coatesville High School graduate Xavia McCollum is the owner of Space by Styled, an intimate, loft-style venue in Downingtown that is available to rent for celebrations and gatherings, and a Behavioral Technician at her alma mater.

“With Space by Styled, my passion is to transform the space into my customers’ visions with custom décor, design, and engaging activities,” she said. “As a Behavioral Technician at Coatesville High School, I enjoy my mentoring relationship with the teens and knowing that I’m making a positive impact for the children in the community where I live.”

McCollum, who began working when she was 15 years old at Marshalls and HomeGoods, earned a bachelor’s degree in Public Health from West Chester University. She credits the community with having the biggest impact on her career.

“They support me and trust me to execute their events,” she said. “A lot of my clientele are returning customers.”

Her proudest professional achievement was opening Space by Styled in April 2022.

“It was something I wanted to do for a long time,” said McCollum. “Once it was in the process of happening, I had a ton of different emotions. I was nervous, but proud and excited that I took a leap of faith. I believe that if you don’t take risks in life, you will never reach your full potential.”

McCollum’s favorite Chester County restaurant is Anthony Cucina Fresca in Downingtown.

McCollum and the rest of the 2023 Class of VISTA Millennial Superstars will be honored at the Awards Reception & Celebration on Thursday, May 18 at Penn State Great Valley.
