Check Out the Top 5 Animal Rescues in the West Chester Area
West Chester and the surrounding areas are home to several amazing animal rescues where pet lovers can adopt their new best friends, foster a dog in need, donate, or volunteer their time, writes Marlene Lang for the West Chester Patch.
Brandywine Valley SPCA has managed to place over 4,700 animals in loving homes so far this year and it is hoping to reach 16,000 before the year end. The rescue has eight facilities, including a shelter in West Chester and an animal health center in Malvern.
LaMancha Animal Rescue is located in Coatesville. The no-kill shelter on 45 acres rescues dogs and cats as well as farm animals like goats and horses. The rescue takes in dogs that have the lowest chances of being adopted at other shelters.
All 4 Paws Rescue is a Malvern no-kill shelter that provides sanctuary and rehabilitation to animals for whom it could be their last chance. The rescue helps foster all breeds of dogs.
There is also Finding Shelter Animal Rescue, a no-kill shelter supported by volunteers, and Make Peace With Animals, a nonprofit focused on finding people looking to adopt retiring racing greyhounds.
