Coatesville High School graduate Jason Sheehan is the Senior Vice President of Commercial Real Estate at Meridian Bank, where he enjoys the long-standing relationships he has formed with clients over the years and being a part of their success.

“Commercial real estate development has the ability to transform intersections, neighborhoods, city blocks, and skylines for the better,” he said. “I like playing a role in the development and watching new buildings rise from the ground-up.”

Sheehan — who began working for the Daily Local News when he was 13 years old, preparing the weekend newspaper bundles for delivery drivers — earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Penn State. He credits Joe Cafarchio and Jim Nelsen, Senior Executives at Meridian Bank, with having the biggest impact on his career.

“When I was an intern at Meridian Bank from 2007-2009, and then early in my professional career, I spent a lot of time discussing banking, credit, and life with both of them,” said Sheehan. “I would listen and absorb all that I could from those conversations. They both helped guide me on a path toward success, and I am very grateful for the time they invested into me and my career.”

When it comes to his proudest professional accomplishment, Sheehan does not think of one single project or loan.

“Instead, I’m proud of how I’ve grown in my career and have gained the trust and respect of our Senior Executives in the loan committee over the years,” he said. “I feel confident bringing new relationships into Meridian Bank and discussing both micro- and macro-level deal metrics with the credit team, knowing they respect my opinions and decisions.”

For nostalgic reasons, Sheehan’s favorite Chester County restaurant is The Little Chef in Coatesville.

“It’s a place I frequently visited for breakfast, lunch, or late dinners in high school,” he said. “I think of all the time spent there with friends and my wife, who was my high school girlfriend at the time.”

Sheehan and the rest of the 2023 Class of VISTA Millennial Superstars will be honored at the Awards Reception & Celebration on Thursday, May 18 at Penn State Great Valley.
