Eight of the 50 Wealthiest ZIP Codes in Greater Philadelphia – which includes not only the five-county region but also southern New Jersey and Delaware’s New Castle County – can be found in Chester County, according to research compiled by Sharon Oliver of The Philadelphia Business Journal.

The rankings are based on 2018 median household income, which was gleaned from the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2018 American Community Survey.

ZIP Code 19425 (Chester Springs) is the wealthiest in Chester County, placing fourth in Greater Philadelphia with a median household income of $164,792.

Berwyn’s 19312 is 18th with a median household income of $134,531, followed by Landenberg’s 19350 at 22nd with a median household income of $127,531.

ZIP Codes 19343 (Glenmoore) and 19355 (Malvern) checked in at Nos. 25 and 29, respectively, while Lincoln University’s 19352 ZIP Code was No. 36.

Downingtown (19335) and Devon (19333) also cracked the Top 50, placing 46th and 47th.

ZIP Codes with populations fewer than 2,000 were excluded from the rankings.
