Chester County Home to Seven of Pennsylvania’s Top 50 Public High Schools for 2022

Chester County is home to seven of Pennsylvania’s Top 50 public high schools for 2022, according to new rankings recently released by Niche.com.

To determine the rankings for its 2022 Best Public High Schools in Pennsylvania list, Niche.com used a rigorous analysis of key statistics using data provided by the U.S. Department of Education and millions of reviews written by students and parents. The metrics used include SAT and ACT scores, college readiness, graduation scores, teacher quality, and high-school ratings.

Schools were then graded using eight categories, with academics weighted most.

For local schools, Conestoga ranked highest in second place. The school has an average graduation rate of 97 percent. Ninety-two percent of its students are proficient in both reading and math.

Here are the public high schools in Chester County that rank among the state’s Top 50:

  • 4. Downingtown STEM Academy
  • 11. Unionville
  • 19. Great Valley
  • 21. Bayard Rustin
  • 33. Downingtown East
  • 37. Henderson
