Cook-Off Brings Heat Back to West Chester on a ‘Chili’ Sunday
West Chester’s 20th Annual Rotary Chili Cook-Off spiced up the streets on a crisp Sunday, attracting 10,000 people to taste the saucy stew, writes Bill Rettew for The Daily Local News.
The community had to give their taste buds a two-year time out due to the pandemic. The competition takes about a year to plan, and organizers didn’t have enough time for 2021.
“I’m so glad to see the community give back to such a fantastic event,” said chili cook-off chair person Bill Friedman.
Ten organizations benefitted the battle of the beans as connoisseurs queued up to take a taste of the myriad of medleys. Attendees, armed with spoons, voted on their favorite concoction.
The Parrot Troopers took home the 2022 Winner for the People’s Choice Awards. Ryan’s Pub reigned supreme in the restaurant division, and Arthur Hall Insurance ranked No. 1 in the business division. As for non-profits, Church Farm School was the champion.
