Sam Gorman, a student at Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown, traveled to the Vatican with fellow delegates from the National Youth Advisory Council of the National Federation of Catholic Youth Ministry for a series of meetings, including a papal audience, writes Gina Christian for Catholic Philly

The council members and Archbishop Nelson Pérez traveled to Rome on Oct. 9 and got to meet Pope Francis three days later.

Archbishop Pérez presented the delegation to the pope during an outdoor papal audience. The group exchanged messages with Pope Francis and presented him with letters from Catholic youth in the U.S.

They also gifted him a colored bracelet highlighting “white for purity, blue for wisdom, yellow for joy, green for unity,” said Archbishop Pérez.
