Chester County is one of the best places for small business owners in Pennsylvania, according to a recently released report by SmartAsset.
To determine the best counties for small business owners, the study measured the proportion of people with small business income, the reported business income, and the amount of tax residents must pay on their income.
Chester County ranked seventh with the Small Business Returns Index of 41.61 with small business returns of 22.08 percent. Its small business income, at 8.10 percent, is above the state average of 6.67 percent, putting the county at No. 13 statewide.
Meanwhile, income taxes in Chester County are $9,352, which is among the lowest in the Keystone State and below the state average of $9,834.
