Two Chester County Attractions, One ‘Rush-Hour Birth’ Make Online Magazine’s Best of Philly 2022 List
Two Chester County attractions and one rush-hour birth have found their place on this year’s Best of Philly list published by the Philadelphia Magazine.
ChesLen Preserve in Coatesville took the crown as the best kid-friendly hiking trail. The area, which is also pet-friendly, offers much more in addition to its nine miles of unpaved trails, including the all-time favorite, Ollie Owl’s playground.
This natural play space features a wooden seesaw, tree stumps ideal for climbing, a log bridge, and a shallow stream.
Meanwhile, Devon Lanes in Devon was named the best bowling alley of the year. The suburban gem opened in 1959 and still retains the charm of another era – including its very affordable pricing.
As a bonus, the title for the best feel-good story went to Maeve Sherry’s Rush-Hour Birth.
Wayne residents Keating and Yiran Sherry were on their way to Paoli Hospital for their child’s delivery when they hit rush hour. Yiran’s labor contractions grew more intense but thanks to the car’s autopilot, her husband was able to comfort his wife as she gave birth to their daughter Maeve.
