Camp Saginaw in Oxford is one of several sleepaway camps in the state that are getting ready for a particularly busy season with the easing of COVID-19 restrictions and with many parents eager and excited to have their children partake in some technology-free fun, writes Erin McCarthy for the Philadelphia Inquirer

The overnight summer camp for boys and girls ages six to sixteen has recorded a noticeable increase in new campers, especially the younger ones, according to owner and director Michael Petkov.

One of the reasons is that some of those kids were introduced to the experience at camp by their parents and siblings in 2020 when cabins were rented out for “camp” family vacations.

So far, enrollment for this summer has been “similar to pre-COVID years,” said Petkov. “It’s pretty strong right now. We’ve shifted to a much younger camp. So, the future looks very bright.”

The popular camp proudly boasts its technology-free status and offers more than 50 activities.
