Habitat for Humanity of Chester County is once again partnering with local craft breweries to celebrate their shared love of the community.

For the past five years, Habitat has sponsored the Building a Thirst Beer Ticket Book, a fundraiser in which the nonprofit sells books containing tickets for free pints at participating breweries. Now, Habitat will be partnering with breweries to host the first Hops for Homes Beer Festival.

On Saturday, June 18 from 12-4 PM, Habitat will host local breweries for the beer festival in the parking lot of Exton Square Mall. Ticketholders will receive a commemorative glass to sample some of the county’s finest craft beer. There will also be food trucks, local vendors, yard games, and live music.

The event is rain or shine, but there will be tent coverage in case of weather. The event is for anyone 21 and older, and designated driver tickets are also available.

Currently, there are eight breweries participating:

  • Be Here Brewing
  • Conshohocken Brewing
  • Hares Hill Brewing
  • La Cabra Brewing
  • Levante Brewing Company
  • Locust Lane Craft Brewery
  • Suburban Brewing
  • Stolen Sun Craft Brewing

Habitat is still looking for a few more breweries to round out the lineup, as well as other local businesses that would be interested in sponsoring in exchange for marketing opportunities and tickets to the event, which are selling quickly. Purchase tickets.

Meanwhile, Habitat was able to welcome Be Here Brewing and Locust Lane Craft Brewery to its West Grove construction site. Be Here owners Maura Langley and Dan Knabb brought friends and family to help stabilize the front porches of five future Habitat homes.

A few days later, Locust Lane’s Tom Arnold, Bryan Brockson, and Steph Eby recruited some helping hands to add safety railings to the same five homes.

“It’s been uplifting seeing these breweries go above and beyond to help out Habitat,” said Becki Patterson, Habitat’s Marketing and Communications Manager. “Be Here Brewing and Locust Lane not only make great beer, but they make great neighbors. We can’t thank them enough for their support. We’re also looking forward to being Locust Lane’s Community Cup Partner for the month of May. We’ll be there for a fundraising happy hour on May 25 to raise funds and share more about the Hops for Homes festival.”
