Chris Putsch and Shaun Ziegler, co-founders of West Chester-based Upswing Fitness, will unveil a new app on June 1 to help fitness instructors and clients connect online, writes Paige Gross for Technica.ly Philly.

Upswing Fitness was founded in 2020 when Putsch and Ziegler, like many others, had to find ways to exercise at home when the pandemic shut down non-essential businesses.

“I wanted to be able to put my clients into a group program that everyone could do on their own time,” said Putsch. “I went looking for a software, but none of them brought members together the way I was looking for.”

The pair has a vision for the platform to not only help trainers supply fitness content to clients, but to also add nutritionists, life coaches, and those working in mental health.

Moreover, while Upswing was first designed as an at-home workout system, Putsch and Ziegler encourage users to incorporate the sessions at the gym as well.

“I’m a quick learner, and technology is all around us,” said Putsch. “I knew there was something here and that technology was the solution.”
