The annual Arc of Chester County Bubble Walk & Fun Day is gearing up for May 15 at West Goshen Park, 900 Lawrence Drive in West Chester.

Held virtually for the past two years because of the pandemic, the 1K Bubble Walk and Fun Day fundraiser will once again be in-person, with an option to participate virtually.

The 2022 Bubble Walk and Fun Day marks an important and significant milestone for The Arc of Chester County as it kicks off celebrating 70 years of advocating for the rights and supporting the needs of those with disabilities in Chester County and surrounding communities.

The live event will feature picnic food and fun. There will be a DJ providing live music for dancing.

Take a chance on a 50/50 prize or play some Bingo and other games.

The kids can enjoy face painting and glitter tattoos.  Check out the fire truck on-site and enjoy appearances by McGruff, the West Goshen Police, and the Twirl Dance Studio.

All this as walkers participate in a 1K Walk, complete with bubbles, around West Goshen Community Park. Cheerleaders will be on hand to provide inspiration and motivation.

The Walkers are raising funds to support Arc of Chester County programs.

Check-in begins at 10:30 a.m. with opening ceremonies at 11:30 a.m.

All participants receive a T-shirt and swag bag.

Register by Monday, April 25.  Registration is free for children ages 4 and under; $10 for children ages 5 to 9 and $25 for individuals ages 10 and up.

The History of Bubble Walk & Fun Day

The Arc of Chester County works to close the gap between what the government will fund for individuals with disabilities and their families, and what they need to live with dignity, respect, and inclusion.

The Arc hosted its first Picnic in 2003 –two years after moving into its new facility at 900 Lawrence Drive next to West Goshen Park.

The annual picnic added a 1K Walk in 2010 around West Goshen Park to attract more supporters and raise additional funds.

In 2018, the Arc added a 5K and 10K run in hopes of bringing new followers.

The pandemic put a temporary halt to the in-person event in 2020 and 2021, but the Arc of Chester County was able to offer a virtual Walk & Run experience in its place.

Still, many participants, employees, and supporters missed the picnic and in-person festivities so it is with great excitement and anticipation that The Arc brings back the 1K Walk this May.

The Arc Mission

The Arc of Chester County serves 3,000+ individuals with disabilities and their families annually to live with respect, dignity, and inclusion.

The Bubble Walk & Fun Day raises money for critical financial support that provides a lifetime of services to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families necessary to be healthy, active, and contributing members to our community.
