Chat-n-Chew Speaker Series Is Back in 2022 at Arc of Chester County

The Arc of Chester County continues to provide support and services during these difficult and complicated times.

The advocacy organization continues to provide a lifetime of services for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities, and their families.

In keeping with that mission, the Arc of Chester County is offering its FREE Spring 2022 Chat-n-Chew Speaker series.   

The sessions will be offered virtually so these amazing presenters can bring important information to the Arc’s wonderful partners.

The Chat-n-Chew sessions will share information, provide opportunities to network, and to learn in a casual and welcoming environment.

Whether you are the parent of a child, an individual with a disability, a professional who works with individuals with disabilities, or another interested partner, these workshops can provide you with a wealth of information.

The Arc of Chester County is offering some great new topics and some topics that are back by popular demand.

Listen and learn about services and supports, transition programs and employment opportunities for individuals and families.

You can register for each Chat-n-Chew session by providing an email, address and ZIP code.  A link will be sent to you via email for the chosen sessions so you can attend virtually that day.  

These FREE sessions are open to everyone. Each session will be held every Wednesday from 11:30  am to 1 pm. on the following dates:

Social Security Disability Benefits I

Wednesday, March 2, 2022, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

You can never learn too much about Social Security Benefits. Join Richard Gaudiosi, Public Affairs Specialist, Social Security Administration for a presentation about benefits and educate yourself on the details of these important benefits.

Topics will include SSI/SSDI, how to apply, how to appeal and how to answer questions.

This Chat-n-Chew presentation will focus on how working, and income can affect your benefits. He will go over ticket to work and answer questions.

Managing and Self-Directing your Services

Wednesday, March 16, 2022, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Do you know you can recruit and hire support service workers? Would you like to learn about self-directing supports and services for you or your loved one?

Agency With Choice is a service delivery option in which individuals with an intellectual disability or autism and/or their representative enrolled in the Consolidated, Community Living or Person/Family directed waiver programs can self-direct some or all their services, which leads to greater choice and control over where, when, and how support services are delivered.

Corrine Dietrich, Director of Agency With Choice, The Arc of Chester County, will present information and answer questions.

The ABLE (Achieving a Better Life Experience Act of 2014) allows savings, with limitations, to be exempt from Supplement Security Income and Medicaid resource limits and earnings are exempt from federal income tax.
