Robert Malone, who grew up in Havertown, is the Acting Executive Director of the Housing Partnership of Chester County, a nonprofit that improves the quality of life for low- and moderate-income people by providing the ability to acquire and maintain decent affordable housing.

Malone, who began working when he was 21 years old as Activities Supervisor for The Arc of Chester County, earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a master’s degree in Public Administration, both from West Chester University.

He credits his friends from college for having the biggest impact on his career.

“It has been great to see friends you know from college grow into who they are today,” said Malone. “They have all been an amazing support network as I navigated my career, and all are willing to lend a hand when needed. Out of my close circle of friends, many have been nominated and received the honor of being a VISTA Millennial Superstar in previous years.”

His proudest professional achievement is being a mentor and supporting those around him.

“When I was working in the Commissioners’ office, I was able to partner with the CCIU and bring their Discover program to the county,” said Malone. “Through this program, we had four or five interns work with us in our office. This provided them opportunities to gain experience in an office type of environment.”

Malone’s favorite Chester County restaurant is Green Street Grill in Downingtown or any place along High Street in West Chester.

Malone and the rest of the 2022 Class of VISTA Millennial Superstars will be honored at the Awards Reception & Celebration held outdoors on Tuesday, May 10 at Penn State Great Valley. The in-person event will feature food trucks, drinks, touchless registration, a VIP tent, and boundless opportunities to network. It will also be live-streamed.
