The Safe Harbor fundraiser, a cornhole/concert combined afternoon, is Apr. 30.

Safe Harbor of Chester County, the West Chester nonprofit dedicated to solving the fundamental issues that lead to homelessness, invites all to its upcoming Cornhole and Concert for Charity Fundraiser.

The event is April 30 at the American Helicopter Museum, West Chester.

The outing is presented by Ms. Patricia Burton Loew, wife of the late real estate developer and philanthropist Jack R. Loew.

The event’s apt title spells out what attendees can expect.

It’s an afternoon of friendly, backyard competition (cornhole) and live music from The Midnight Hour Band. This Chadds Ford–based group has been called one of the best dance bands in the Phila. area. It routinely plays gigs at event spots that include the Hotel DuPont and Four Seasons Philadelphia.

Gameplay begins at 2:00 p.m.; the concert starts at 4:00 p.m.

Tickets to the cornhole competition include the concert. But music lovers not into the sport can purchase a concert-only admission.

Because both tossing beanbags and listening to music build appetites, the event features numerous food trucks. Well-known brands like Buddy’s Burgers, Philly Hots, Rita’s Water Ice, and Locust Lane Craft Brewery will be onsite.

A virtual auction will tempt bidders for items that include golf packages and a trip to Mexico.

The cornhole tourney has an entry fee of $200 for two registrations; solo players are $100 each and will be paired with a partner. Play organization and oversight comes with the assistance of the Keystone Cornhole Association, Lancaster.

A portion of all proceeds supports Safe Harbor.
