Safe Harbor's April 30 cornhole tournament will be both entertaining and beneficial.

Safe Harbor of Chester County, the West Chester nonprofit dedicated to solving the fundamental issues that lead to homelessness, has announced a spring event. Its Cornhole and Concert for Charity Fundraiser, April 30, 2022, blends one of America’s hottest backyard sports with an afternoon of 1970s–1990s hit music.

It’s a sunshine-bathed competition of thunking beanbags and rockin’ guitars at the American Helicopter Museum in West Chester, which has agreed to participate to further the Safe Harbor mission.

Teams of two can register for $200; solo players can enter at $100 each in a division of the entrant’s choosing. Single players will be paired with a partner.

All divisions will play double elimination until a winner emerges at the top. The first, second, and third best tossers walk away with a prize, and ample bragging rights. Scoring is electronic, ensuring it is tallied with the utmost accuracy.

The day also includes food and drink for purchase and a silent auction. The concert begins at 5:00 p.m., and nonfans of cornhole can attend just for the music and food.

Safe Harbor is committing to holding the event safely; organizers will take appropriate precautions to comply with the current CDC and the Pa. Department of Health guidelines.

Play is organized with the help of the Keystone Cornhole Association, professional organizer of cornhole events.
