During a ribbon-cutting on Wednesday, December 8, the new Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Pottstown-Limerick hosted a grand opening for the 118-room hotel, and a big donation was given to Hobart’s Run, writes Donna Rovins at The Mercury.

The new Marriott, located at 99 Robinson Street in Pottstown, went through an extensive 16-month renovation and opened under the new name this summer during a soft opening in August.

The new Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Pottstown-Limerick hotel then presented a donation to Pottstown organization Hobart’s Run with a donation of $1,000.

“It was a complete surprise to us that we would be receiving this gift! It will be put to good use,” said Cathy Skitko, Director of Hobart’s Run Communications and Community Relations and Coordinator of Community Service for The Hill School. “The Marriott donation to Hobart’s Run will be used to help fund our Facade Improvement Grant program. We have 10 applicants in the queue for very limited funds, so the gift from Marriott truly is appreciated, the hotel is really beautiful!”

The Pottstown Area Children’s Foundation received a similarly generous donation.
