Malvern-Based Endo’s New Marketing Campaign Promotes Its Treatment for Rare Condition in Men

Endo International has adopted a marketing campaign for its drug to treat Peyronie's disease, a painful and rare condition in men.

Endo International — based in Dublin, Ireland, with a U.S. headquarters in Malvern — has launched a marketing campaign to promote Xiaflex. The flagship product addresses Peyronie’s disease, a medical condition men may be reluctant to talk about with their doctors, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Xiaflex is the only non-surgical treatment for Peyronie’s disease that has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration.

Peyronie’s disease results from a build-up of fibrous scar tissue on the penis, causing it to curve painfully when erect.

The marketing effort centers around the imagery of a bent carrot.

Endo plans to use the visual in its television and online advertising. The larger campaign includes ads for radio, streaming music services, digital ads, and social media.

This is Endo’s first promotion of the treatment specifically for the disease.

“We’re bringing awareness and education about treatment to consumers,” said Thomas Kolaras, senior vice president and general manager for medical therapeutics at Endo.
