Bishop Shanahan senior and star football player DaKendrick Daniels is high on the radar of college recruiters and recently made his first official visit, to the University of Colorado, writes Adam Munsterteiger for 247Sports.com.

At 6-foot-3, 200 pounds, Daniels plays as a stand-up outside linebacker and as a hand-in-the-ground edge player on the high school level. He said his visit to Boulder was extremely positive.

“I got to hang out with a bunch of their commits,” said Daniels. “I met a lot of people. It was great. I really loved the campus and the team and the staff, everybody out there.”

He also appreciated that the campus felt like one big, happy family.

“You could really feel the connection and the bond that everybody had out there,” he said. “Even regular people out in Boulder; it was just really welcoming.”

Daniels — whose father, Phillip, played as a defensive end in the NFL for 15 years — said that the visit got high grades from his entire family.

“That was my first time being that far from here,” he said. “The vibes out there were just completely different than anything I’ve felt in Pennsylvania. My family and I loved it a lot.”

Daniels plans to make his college decision in late November or early December.
