About the Domestic Abuse Project of Delaware County

The Domestic Abuse Project of Delaware County  was created in 1976 to provide safety, advocacy and support to victims of domestic abuse within Delaware County.

Empowering victims of abuse and domestic violence prevention is the core mission of the Domestic Abuse Project.

Each year, thousands of victims of abuse and their children are supported through a 24/7 hotline, emergency safe shelter, counseling and legal advocacy.

Domestic Abuse Project operates a thrift store, Nana’s Attic, to help fund DAP’s programming and services.

One Book, One P.I.T. Discusses “When Stars Are Scattered”

P.I.T.’s ongoing virtual book discussion series continues Oct. 26, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., with a look at the graphic novel, “When Stars Are Scattered: Discussing Obstacles Faced by Immigrants and Refugees.”

The free discussion will be hosted by Kamira Evans, Rachelle Chaykin, and Kristin Bernet,

Guest speakers are Rosewitha Marcher and Hezouwe Ngani.

“When Stars Are Scattered” is a graphic novel by Omar Mohamed, Victoria Jamieson and Iman Geddy about growing up in a refugee camp, as told by a former Somali refugee.

The Pennsylvania Institute of Technology invites students, faculty, staff, and community members to join in for a virtual panel and discussion about experiences immigrants and refugees face.

This event is sponsored by the “One Book, One P.I.T.” program to promote reading for pleasure, encourage the exploration of diverse experiences and perspectives, and facilitate community dialogue by providing a common discussion point for all members of the College community.
