Longtime caterer Meridith Coyle and her daughter Alexandra McLoughlin are making the dreary pandemic days sweeter in Paoli. They’ve collaborated on a new ice cream parlor, The Queens’ Table, writes Caroline O’Halloran for SAVVY Main Line.
The new business is half-creamery, half-showcase for women entrepreneurs and artists.
On the creamery side, the pair aims to create healthier ice cream. Organic whole foods and small-batch, local vendors are the hallmarks of the artisanal batches. Even the whipped cream is homemade.
Aneu’s long-time baker, Nathan Hurst, crafts the cookies and brownies used in “Smokin’ Hot Sundaes” and “Sweet Sliders.”
The menu also shows several vegan and dairy-free options, including vegan chocolate chips and nondairy frozen confections.
The “girl power” part of the business sells gifts, home décor items, and local art.
“I wanted to create a place for women in small business to show their wares,” said Coyle.
The arrangement to sell products at The Queens’ Table sidesteps the burden of rent to operate on a commission basis. Some current suppliers include bellaDONNA, Alex Eco Events, and Cloud Nine Painter.
