For Cajun Food Fans in Downingtown, a New Restaurant with a Big Easy Vibe Is Now Bayou

The Social Lounge (aka The Social), a favorite on the West Chester restaurant scene, has taken its cajun menu on the move … to Downingtown, where a second location has opened, writes Ed Williams for Main Line Today.
“We researched the Media and Main Line areas, but several reasons kept pointing us back here,” said owner Don Moore. “The growth of this area is explosive. We wanted to grow with the town.”
The new eatery opened its doors in the former Frank’s American Pub & Grill. The building’s interior was gutted by the new owner to create an open, 2,500-square-foot space for the newcomer. A large bar serves as the establishment’s anchor. At present, seating is 100. Expansion plans include additional tables and an outdoor beer garden.
Executive chef Dan Funk oversees the menu. He’s retained The Social’s signature, bayou comfort foods: pistachio-crusted chicken fingers, New Orleans nachos, gluten-free jambalaya salad, and andouille meatloaf.
The drink menu has plenty of craft cocktails to choose from, including a St. Germain, ginger, and chocolate martini.
