There are nearly unlimited ways to propose marriage.

Kevin Garcia classed it up for his bride-to-be, Marianella Orlando, by proposing at the scenic Ridley Creek State Park while a painter captured the moment on canvas, writes Kristen Schott for Philadelphia magazine.

The artist is Andy Greenlee of Celebration Paintings.

Marianella Orlando, 28, and Kevin Garcia, 27, both of Levittown, met in June 2013 after she moved back to Philadelphia from Kutztown University.

They stayed a couple for five years before getting engaged.

For the proposal, Kevin wanted to include two of Maria’s loves, a visit to NYC and painting.

When COVID took away the New York trip, Kevin looked for Philadelphia artists and found Greenlee, who specializes in live art.

He chose the fountain and the greenery at Ridley Creek State Park for the special Dec. 13 moment.

Kevin set it up to seem as if they ran into the artist randomly. Greenlee had already started sketching out the proposal. Then, Kevin got down on one knee.

“I couldn’t believe it,” Maria said. “It was the most romantic and kindest gesture.”

The wedding is set for May 15, 2022.
