Narberth-based AQUA Waterproof Headwear has been selected by the Qurate Retail Group Small Business Spotlight program that aims to help small businesses challenged by COVID-19.

AQUA Waterproof Headwear was invented by longtime friends Kiana Muhly and Khadijah Robinson, who met while attending Temple University, and founded the Kay & Kay Group to market their product.

AQUA Waterproof Headwear is a line of pre-tied turbans and headwraps that are designed to protect the hair that women invest so much time and money on from being ruined by water and humidity.

The headwear protects hair from humidity and rain and can also be used as protection in the shower or pool.

As part of the program, the Black-owned headwear line got a chance to be featured on QVC, HSN, and Zulily, which reach more than 90 million homes in the U.S. via broadcast channels and millions more via digital platforms.

“We literally jumped up and down when we received the call that we were accepted into this program!” said Muhly and Robinson. “The reach that QVC, HSN, and Zulily can offer businesses large and small is invaluable and we are so excited to share our products that we are so passionate about with a whole new audience.”

Robinson’s passion is to develop products that would ultimately enhance the lifestyles of people everywhere, and Muhly and Robinson are just getting started.
