A year after a fire nearly destroyed it, Nicholas Anthony Salon & Day Spa in Unionville has risen from the ashes like a Phoenix and is now better than ever, writes Richard Gaw for the Chester County Press.

The first days after the disaster on Jan. 3, 2020 were especially hard for the owner, Anthony DiFrancesco.

“There were times soon after the fire when I questioned whether or not I wanted to continue to do this,” he said.

But after talking with family, staff, and his longtime clientele, DiFrancesco decided that reopening was the only option.

However, his plans to move the business into a temporary space while the permanent location was being reconstructed had to be put on hold until June due to COVID-19. Then, he was able to open the Nicholas Anthony Pop-Up Salon in a nearby building.

Since then, the old space has been completely renovated and modernized. It reopened on Dec. 28, fully equipped to meet all COVID-19 safety standards.
