When you are from the land of the cheesesteak, where exactly does vegan fit in? Not surprisingly, more and more people are reaching for vegan alternatives to meat, and these Chester County cafés know how to make veggies otherworldly. Grace Dickinson of The Philadelphia Inquirer has sussed out the best meat-free spots to get your veg on.

Love Again Local (located at 18 S. Church Street in West Chester, 484-266-7381) whips up 100-percent plant-based sandwiches, from gluten-free PB&J to a Classic Reuben to the Impossible Burger. Try their Chickpea “Tuna” sandwich or the special Bacon Mac n Cheeseburger when its available. Get a Love Chunk cookie, too. Get delivery via Toast or Uber Eats.

The Greyhound Café is 100-percent plant-based and its food is super-delicious. Located at 81 Lancaster Avenue in the Great Valley Shopping Center, near SuTao Café (see below), this café serves up top-shelf entrees like Chicken Marsala, Grilled Burritos, Pizzas, Crab Cakes, and so much more. Even brunch options like Chimichangas, Breakfast tacos, and Fried Chicken and Waffles are available. Call 610-240-0222 to order, or order online with Toast.

SuTao Café (located at 81 Lancaster Avenue in Malvern, 610-651-8886) offers up vegetarian Chinese dishes. SuTao means fundamentals of vegetarian cooking in Chinese, so you can enjoy great food that is good for you, and not ever feel like you’re dieting.

With your dishes, you can choose your veggies or protein like konjac, soy, or seitan for your Orange Veggie Beef or your General Tso’s Chicken, also served with white or brown rice. Call or order online and get delivery with GrubHub or Seamless.
