Parx Casino is ready to launch an off-track and sports betting operation inside the new Chickie’s and Pete’s in Malvern this week. Laura Smythe opened the sportsbook details for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Pending regulatory approval, the casino will debut its roughly 600-square-foot sportsbook, cited as the first of its kind inside a Pennsylvania restaurant, on Wednesday.

Patrons will be able to place off-track bets on horse races and wager on pro and college sports at the newly opened eatery.

The betting venue does not have any seats, since bettors will primarily watch games in Chickie’s and Pete’s dining area. Instead, the space contains televisions, odds boards, betting kiosks, and teller windows.

The operation has security and will only be accessible to those aged 21 or older. Bettors can create an account using the Parx sportsbook app, where they can deposit funds and make withdrawals. They can also use the in-person teller to cash out winnings or load money onto their account.

The main goal is to have the Malvern operation up and running by Sunday, when Chickie’s and Pete’s expects the restaurant to be packed for Super Bowl LVI.
