Ian Kramer, a Montgomery County native and Souderton High School graduate, is the President and CEO of Schorn Construction Company, a general contracting firm based in Downingtown.
Kramer, who began working for a landscaping company when he was 17 years old, earned a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport. He credits two people with having the biggest impact on his career.
“A previous co-worker, Maggie Reed of Gilbane Building Company, taught me how to think, plan, and prepare at a higher level,” said Kramer. “I was young and at the beginning of my construction career, and she taught me how to work with the wide range of people in the construction industry, from tradesmen to client executives. Also, Joe Schorn of Schorn Construction has widened my construction knowledge and taught me how to think and analyze every kind of situation on a job and how to make educated decisions.”
Kramer’s proudest professional accomplishment was being chosen to succeed Joe and Fran Schorn as President and CEO of the company.
“I am very proud to lead our company and instill preparation and thoroughness to our operations, all with the mentality of ‘doing what is right’ that our previous owners were known for,” he said. “I take a lot of pride in making sure that we are known by the community and our clients as being dependable.”
Kramer’s favorite Chester County restaurant is Stable 12 Brewing Company in Phoenixville.
