2021 VISTA Millennial Superstars: Elizabeth Hopkins

By

Conestoga High School graduate Elizabeth Hopkins is the Assistant Chief Fire Marshal with the County of Chester and owner of Honeymoon Farm in Oxford.

Hopkins, who began bagging groceries and stocking shelves at Acme in Devon at age 14, earned a bachelor’s degree in Fire/Arson Investigation and Fire Services Administration from the University of New Haven in Connecticut.

She credits John Durso of Brilliant Sales Strategies as having the biggest impact on her career.

“I’ve known John for many years – he was part of the organization that helped me through college by providing financial support to volunteer first responders on the Main Line,” said Hopkins. “Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working with him on the board of the Main Line Chamber Foundation, and he has been one of the best resources and sounding boards for me as I grow my small business.”

Her proudest professional achievement is building a successful small farm while working a demanding, full-time job.

“My farm business is my proudest accomplishment – the many people that I have connected and become friends with through it, the customers I’ve gotten to know, the experience and knowledge that I have gained, and the direction and passion it has given me,” said Hopkins.

For Hopkins, it’s impossible to choose her favorite Chester County restaurant.

Foxfire at The Stone Barn (in Kennett Square) is one of my favorites for a special, high-end, farm-to-table dinner,” she said. “I also love much of downtown West Chester, like Iron Hill Brewery, Bar Avalon, Taco Mar, D’Ascenzo’s Gelato. Closer to my home in southern Chester County, Taqueria Los Juarez in Oxford has the best authentic Mexican food!”
