Coal Township native Michael Rovito is a Partner at MacElree Harvey, Ltd., representing clients in legal matters.

“This covers the gambit from providing advice to court appearances, etc.,” said Rovito. “The thing I enjoy most about my job is being able to help clients through some of the most difficult times of their lives. Being an attorney is more than just walking into a courtroom — although that is generally the fun part; it’s also about providing counsel to clients.”

Rovito’s first job was at the age of 14 in Brigantine, New Jersey, at a restaurant known as The Oceanfront. He worked at the water ice stand and as a busboy. He attended high school at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional High School and earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance from Pennsylvania State University. He earned his law degree from Widener University Commonwealth Law School.

Rovito credits his Aunt Alita with having a profound impact on his career. She gave him the opportunity to work with her after he passed the bar exam.

“I graduated in May 2010, sat for the bar in July, learned I passed in October, and entered one of the worst job markets in history as a newly minted attorney,” said Rovito. “My father has a law practice in Shamokin, but he wanted me to go to an area where I would have greater opportunities. My aunt opened her practice and home to me. From there, I like to think of the education I received as classic tutelage in law. She absolutely had the biggest impact on my career.”

Over the course of his career in law, Rovito’s proudest professional moment to date is obtaining a favorable ruling for a client where his team only was not successful in their position, but the court also ruled several Chester County Local Rules of Civil Procedure to be unconstitutional.

Two of Rovito’s favorite Chester County restaurants are Pietro’s and Andiarrio.

Rovito and the rest of the 2024 Class of VISTA Millennial Superstars will be honored at the Awards Reception & Celebration on Thursday, May 9 at Penn State Great Valley, Malvern.
